As Ash is the champion and the Masters Trainer, he sure has thought of rivals who would have featured in Masters Eight Tournament. Ash Rivals were as tough as Ash is and would possibly have made to master eight tournament, as we have seen that Ash's Kalos rivals Alain and his Friendly Rival, Iris have made their way to Masters Eight Tournament.

Ritchie was the first Friendly Rival of Ash, he mate during indigo league arc. Ash and Ritchie shared very things in common such as Pokemon, their types and battling styles. Ritchie was given the less Screen Time but fans expected more, Ritchie was the intersting rival of Ash. Ritchie was so strong trainer that he made his way to top 8 of Kanto League in his first attempt.
Ritchie was so skill and capable trainer and has the strong bond with his Pokemon's. Ritchie would have made to master's tournament of Pokemon World Championship. Not Now, but hopping to see him on top in upcoming seasons.
9.Trip
Trip is the Pokemon trainer Ash met in unova regions and also he is the Pokemon junior World champion. Trip is one who shared some cruel personality like Paul, one of Ash Rivals. Trip was the good trainer and have defeated Ash in every expect unles defeated by Ash in unova leagues. Trip was the confident trainer and sometimes Cocky, have won almost every battle prior to Unova leagues. The training Skills and confidence of Trip would have made him the Master 8 trainer, and may rematched Ash in Masters Eight Tournaments. But, he made no long we hope seeing him in further seasons of Pokemon series.
8.kiawe
Kiawe is the friendly rivals of Ash met in alola regions, he is friend more than Rivals. Kiawe is the Fire type expert trainer from Alola, with his Ace Pokemon Charizard and Alolan Marovak he has won many battles. Kiawe holds the Z-ring and initiates Z-move, but he had lost to Ash in semifinals of Alola league. Despite, kiawe is among the best trainers and definitely would have made to MASTER'S TOURNAMENT. We are expecting kiawe a good fortune in upcoming seasons of Pokemon.
7.Harrison
Harrison is Pokemon trainer from hoen region with his Ace Pokemon Blaziken. Ash and Harrison meet each other during Johto leagues Silver conference, Harrison has defeated Ash in Silver conference and the match was impressive, the battle between Harrison Blaziken and Ash Charizard. But, Ash lost to Harrison. He was really a skilled trainer with tactics and strategies and could have made to master's tournament and would have become the master trainer.
6.Gladion
Gladion is special trainer, Friend and fierce Rival of Ash from Alola regions and has recognised Ash by its interaction to Tapu Koko. Their Rivalry was tragic to Ash losing many times, until revenged in finals at manalo Conference. Gladion was as skill as Ash is, and would have become champion if not defeated by Ash. Pokemon World Championship is greatest tournament of Pokemon Universe for the first class Pokemon trainers, gladion is the first class trainer and would have made to master's tournament if he have received more screen time.
5.Gary
Gary is the first and the main Rival of Ash from the beginning of Pokemon series. The Clash between these friendly neighborhood Rivals was not shown in the series so far, but in Silver conference the battle between Gary and Ash was Jaw dropping. Gary is so talented and skilled trainer that he would have become champion by Now, if not decided to be a professor and researcher. Gary would have easily made to master's eight tournament, if he would be the Trainer.
4.Sawyer
Sawyer was the friend and rival of Ash in the kalos journey, and his Rivalry was well handled. Sawyer was the Trainer who admired and respected Ash the most and was inspired to learn from Ash. His Pokemon team was one of the best Pokemon teams in Kalos league which led him to semifinals, he lost to Ash. The skills and the fast adoption ability of Sawyer would definitely have led him to Masters Eights Tournament.
3.Paul
Paul is one among the strongest Trainer of Sinnoh region, his technics of training his Pokemon was far different than other trainers. Paul was consistent wining against Ash almost every match but avenged in quater finals of Sinnoh leagues. He was defeated by Ash, Paul so strong and talented trainer that for sure makes place in masters Eight Tournament. Also, Paul was appointed as the Gym leader of Sinnoh region, so eventually he would have made in masters Eight Trainer, but only if he had decided to participate in masters tournament.
2.Tyson
Tyson was the friend and the Rival of Ash during Pokemon hoen journey, Ash and Tyson met just before hoen league has to start. Tyson was competitive Trainer to deal with, Ash and Tyson faced each other in quater finals of Hoen league Championship.
Tyson defeated Ash in quater finals. Tyson was of impressive in his Skills of training his Pokemon and battling, he sure have made his way to Masters Eight Tournament. As he is the regional champion of hoen, there was a huge chances of him to become a Master 8 trainer.
1.Tobias
While competing in Sinnoh league, Tobias haven't lost a single Pokemon of his team. Ash was the only one to defeat two Pokemons of his during Sinnoh leagues. Tobias had the strongest team of the legendaries and mythical varieties of Pokemons. He not only defeated Ash in semifinals of Sinnoh leagues but also won Sinnoh league Title. As we know that the master's tournament was mostly consists of Top Coordinator, Gym leaders and regional Champions. Hence, making Tobias one of the best condentant of master's tournament and would have surely made in masters Eight.
